The Pentagon issues rules severely limiting Media Access to the Persian Gulf War.

Birmingham Public Library, Alabama, removes six drawings by Teresa and Jean Campbell from an exhibit. Library officials deem the works ?not appropriate.? The drawings show a mother breast-feeding her baby and are described by the artists as a celebration of motherhood. After public outcry the work is returned.
