Abstinence-Only Education?

NCAC recently published the Joint Statement against abstinence-only sex education, endorsed by 45 groups, which details the dangers of government censorship of sex ed. Congressional debate on funding for abstinence-only programs is expected soon. Copies of the Joint Statement have been sent to all Members of Congress. USA PATRIOT Act

Senator Russell Feingold, Representative Patsy Mink, and Lucy Dalglish of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press spoke at a press briefing on Capitol Hill on April 25, in anticipation of the six month anniversary of The USA PATRIOT Act. The event was coordinated by NCAC and other members of the Free Expression Network, who released a statement describing how the Act has dramatically expanded the investigative powers of the federal government at the expense of constitutional freedoms.
