NCAC Censorship News Issue #81:

Anti-Censorship Sex Ed Campaign Taking Off

NCAC's campaign against censorship in sexuality education is picking up steam and support. The campaign is intended to inform educators, legislators and public policy-makers about the threat to important First Amendment principles from publicly-funded "abstinence-only" public school programs. The Joint Statement focuses on abstinence-only education as censorship, as an affront to the principle of church-state separation, and as ineffective and unnecessary. Lambda's Legal Defense and Education Fund, Inc. called it "one of the best, informative-yet-succinct statements on the issue." For our Fact Sheet and information about censorship incidents connected with abstinence-only programs, click here. Groups wanting to join can contact NCAC for more information.
