Naharin's Virus: The Batsheva Dance Company performs "Naharin's Virus," about an outbreak of Israeli-Palestinian violence in December, 2000 (a topic that is unfortunately timely). Co-created with Arab-Israeli composer Habib Alla Jamal, "Naharin's Virus" is also an adaptation of the absurdist play, "Offending the Audience, by Peter Handke, who co-wrote "Wings of Desire." In this piece, Hanke's "offensive" text combines with Alla Jamal's evocative music and Naharin's extremely physicaly choreography to create a work that demonstrates the power of collaboration. April 30-May 4, 2002, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
